Annual events with everlasting purpose.
The university sponsors several notable annual events that gather believers from all parts of the globe specifically for important conversation on spiritual matters.
Christian Scholars’ Conference: Created in 1981, this unique gathering of Christian scholars and theologians is the stage upon which hundreds of essays and writings on spiritual matters are developed. Typically keynoted by leading thinkers in religion today, the Christian Scholars’ Conference brings together individuals from a range of academic disciplines, not just theology, to reflect on the integration of scholarship and faith and to stimulate networks of scholarly dialogue and collaboration. The event is traditionally held in June.
Nurture Conference: A two-day conference usually held in the first quarter of the year, the Nurture Conference is hosted by Lipscomb’s Institute for Christian Spirituality and is focused on the development of spiritual formation, especially studying the spiritual disciplines and their application in today’s culture.
Summer Celebration: A festive and spiritually rich and refreshing gathering of Christians held annually around the Fourth of July, Summer Celebration attracts thousands of believers from throughout the country to attend a schedule of hundreds of classes, seminars, presentations and luncheons. With activities scheduled from early in the morning to late at night, this family event is part lectureship, part family reunion, part tent meeting and part celebration with a closing patriotic fireworks display to celebrate the Fourth.
IMPACT: This Christian youth summer gathering is “sold out” every year! A free event, IMPACT is two separate sessions held back to back, one for 6th-8th graders and one for 9th –12th graders. Designed to challenge teens to a personal faith in a secular culture, IMPACT is one of the largest spiritual-growth events held on campus throughout the year.
