This webinar will introduce teachers to the evidence-based practice of dialogic reading: a technique for sharing books with students that relies on discussing illustrations. By reversing roles and letting the student be the storyteller, teachers can take advantage of multiple teaching moments to build early literacy skills. This strategy also provides opportunities for valuable social-emotional learning in the early childhood classroom.Join Liz Atack, manager of Nashville Public Library’s Bringing Books to Life program, as she shares the basics of dialogic reading and highlights great books for using this technique with students.
