At Lipscomb, sports are really something to cheer about. We compete in NCAA Division I, belong to the Atlantic Sun Conference, and provide lots of opportunities for intramural play. Plus we offer multiple opportunities for the non-athlete to get active and stay fit. You won’t find more enthusiastic fans than at Lipscomb either—because even after the final buzzer, we’re all part of the same team

NCAA Division I Sports and ASUN Conference

When we say we play NCAA Division I sports, that means we compete against the best—and often the biggest—schools in the nation. We have been to NCAA post-season play in ten of our 17 sports — with our men’s basketball team making it to the national championship in March 2018 for the first time in school history! It also means we maintain stringent academic standards for our student-athletes: our Bisons maintain high grades in addition to high scores.

Bison Fans: Horns Up!

Between our men's and women's teams, we cover 17 major sports. Our trophy cases are over flowing due to the success of our programs. And the whole community turns out for the Battle of the Boulevard, a basketball showdown against our rivals at another Nashville university.

Athletics in Student Life

Our Student Activities Center—SAC—is one of the busiest places on campus. There, our students jog, bike, shoot hoops, lift weights, play tennis and a lot more. Also, intramural teams keep campus hopping with everything from flag football to ultimate Frisbee matches.
